Overview[]

Burrie is an icy moon that orbits Ymir. The moon and its planet are referred to as "Fire and Ice," because the moon is icy and the planet it orbits is described as a fiery nightmare. The Andromeda located a signal from it, and realized that a charged aurora was about to hit it. They traveled to the source, and found that an alien queen needed to mate with someone so that she could give birth to her children, so that her race could live again. ("Vault of the Heavens")

Trivia[]

  • The name may be a nod to Larry Niven and Jerry Pournel's character, Horace Bury from "The Mote in God's Eye." It seems more probable, however, that the reference is to Búri, the first god of Norse mythology, grandfather of Odin, Vili and Ve, who took shape when the cow Auðumbla licked the salty ice of Ginnungagap. He is an integral part of the first phase of Norse creation mythology, like Ymir.
