Overview[]

Dragonia Vine is a species of plant created through genetic engineering that holds great symbolic value in Nietzschean culture. The Vine itself was created by Drago Museveni as his first successful feat of genetic manipulation. Before the fall of the Commonwealth, Dragonia Vine was once commonly found on the planet Fountainhead, the birthplace of the Nietzschean race. Dragonia Vines at this time were in relative abundance, until the Battle of Witchhead during the Nietzchean Insurrection, which saw the destruction of Fountainhead by orbital bombardment. As a result, the plant became virtually extinct.

Characteristics[]

The plant can be easily distinquished by its lush and colorful flowers, as well as its intoxicating scent. However, the plant has a dangerous aspect as well, as although it appears harmless it strangles to death any being that comes too close in order to enjoy its scent and beauty.

For Nietzscheans, the plant is the physical representation of one of their universal beliefs: that the Universe is a beautiful place full of wonders, and it wants to kill you.

According to Nietzschean folklore, the Dragonia Vine signifies leadership. However, that leadership would come to a lonely and bloody end.

Tyr Anasazi received a box containing seeds of the Vine on board the Andromeda Ascendant. He claimed to have no knowledge as to their provenance, but he later told Dylan Hunt that it was a message from survivors of the Kodiak Pride. However, it was only a ploy to get a plan in place without Dylan being too suspicious. It was more likely the seeds were sent to him by the Drago-Kazov Pride as acceptance of his proposal, since he was pretending to be the reincarnation of Drago Museveni, and asking for their allegiance. He nurtured it, and raised a seed to maturity.

When Tyr left the Andromeda Ascendant, he left without his plant. The plant remained in the Andromeda Ascendant Hydroponic Garden.
