Gene Roddenberry (born 19 August 1921, El Paso, Texas, USA - d. 24 October 1991, Santa Monica, California) was an American writer and producer. He was the creator of the original concept for the Andromeda series. He is also best known for creating the popular sci-fi television series Star Trek, as well as Earth: Final Conflict. He was married to the executive producer of Andromeda Majel Roddenberry to which they had one son who also wrote for his father's creations.
