Overview

The Resolution of Hector, also known as "Hector" and "Resolution", is a Systems Commonwealth Siege Perilous Class that was taken over by the Artificial Intelligence of the Balance of Judgment controlled Rommie, and hijacked out of Drydock before its commissioning. ("Day of Judgement, Day of Wrath")

Hijacking

When Andromeda Ascendant and several High Guard ships were in Drydock, being upgraded and repaired while awaiting the Resolution's commissioning ceremony, where its Artificial Intelligence was to be bonded with the ship's mainframe, Rommie suddenly turned on the crew and hijacked the vessel, before escaping the High Guard installation. Due to the fact that the Andromeda was being serviced at that point, she was unable to pursue for some time, allowing the Resolution to escape. Shortly after, it was revealed that Rommie was under the control of a sleeper program, implanted in the android's consciousness by the Artificial Intelligence of the Balance of Judgement, who had secretly uploaded it during the Andromeda's battle with the Judgement. Under the Balance's command, Restorian terrorists lying in wait boarded the ship, claiming it for their organization.

Once the ship escaped, Gabriel (the Judgement's Artificial Intelligence) fled to an Asteroid field, in order to hide while his Artificial Intelligence could better install himself, and so that Seamus Harper, who was on the ship when it was hijacked, could build the Artificial Intelligence a new body. Harper managed to put the ship into training mode, so that it could only run simulations, and disabled its weapons, so when the Andromeda Ascendant finally arrived in the asteroid field, the Balance of Judgment wasn't able to fire upon it. Rommie was allowed to regain control of her body after she was able to bring the ship out of training mode, and Harper completed Gabriel's new body, which Gabriel then christened Remiel. Remiel then moved to eliminate Harper, but Seamus was saved by Rommie, who convinced the Balance to let him go.

Remiel agreed to provide an escape pod for Harper, but unbeknownst to the Restorians Dylan and the Resolution of Hector's avatar managed to sneak onto the ship by using a captured Restorian fighter. The two then made there way to the bridge where they encountered Remiel. The Resolution's avatar Hector engaged Remiel in a fight while Dylan Hunt attempted to use the Artificial Intelligence eraser captured from the Drago-Kazov Pride POW camp to destroy the Balance's Artificial Intelligence for good. However the eraser proved ineffective and Dylan, Rommie and Harper were forced to try and escape while the Balance remained distracted by Hector. But the Balance of Judgment won in the fight and destroyed Hector by shooting him in the chest. Rommie tried one last time to convince the Judgment to surrender. The Andromeda shows up, and while the Balance of Judgment's Artificial Intelligence surrenders its avatar does not, and he and Rommie fight until they inadvertently opened an airlock which nearly sucked them out into space. Luckily Dylan was able to use an EVA suit, saving Rommie at the last second. The Balance of Judgment's Artificial Intelligence is wiped from the Resolution by the Perseids.

Ship Features

The interior of the ship is similar to the layout of a Glorious Heritage Class vessel, with crew quarters and command center being in the same location, except that the background has a crimson and black motif.

• The Achilles Avatar was played by Christopher Judge, giving it much in common with the Balance of Judgment's AI, Gabriel, portrayed by his fellow Stargate SG-1 star, Michael Shanks. Christopher Judge returned as the Avatar of the Resolution of Hector and battled Gabriel, an interesting role-reversal since, in the Iliad, Achilles slays Hector.
